The Dog Collar Trevor Gifted Chelsea On ‘Love Is Blind’ Has A Sweet, Yet Heartbreaking Story Behind It

Spoiler Warning: Spoilers for Love Is Blind Season 6 follow: If you have yet to watch the latest season of Love Is Blind, what are you doing? Season 6 is full of surprises, new couples, and some new fan favorites. One in particular will have you swooning, and he goes by the name of Trevor Sova.

With every reality TV series, there’s bound to be drama. In a dating show, that gets heightened, especially with Love Is Blind. In Season 6, Trevor found himself in a love triangle with Chelsea, who also formed a connection with Jimmy (she ultimately ended up choosing Jimmy). Trevor and Chelsea form a deep connection, yet, Chelsea did not accept Trevor’s proposal. It was heartbreaking.

Trevor, a 31-year-old project manager from North Carolina, is one of my new favorite Love Is Blind contestants. He’s easily the best catch, IMO, from Season 6. He’s got charm, good looks, a wonderful personality, and is overall an ideal person to end up with. He also cares deeply, validating and understanding others’ feelings, and truly opened his heart up to Chelsea during the experiment. Of course, these two did not end up together, and it resulted in Trevor leaving the show heartbroken.

In the pods, Trevor and Chelsea instantly had a special connection. Chelsea, coincidentally, was also the name of Trevor’s dog, whom he loved dearly. During one of their dates in the pods, Trevor shows Chelsea a dog collar that belonged to his dog Chelsea. It was a very wholesome moment, and since airing, Trevor has shared more of the story to his TikTok, and it’s both sweet and heartbreaking.

In a video posted to his TikTok on Feb. 17, Trevor shared a little more insight into why he chose to show the collar to Chelsea, and also talked about his dog. Trevor shared that, before going on the show, contestants were told to bring a gift and a personal item with them to give to a potential partner. So, when Trevor “gifted” Chelsea the collar, it wasn’t necessarily a gift, but rather “something that was close to [his] heart,’” as he said in the TikTok video.

He went on to share why he chose to bring a dog collar with him to the show and the story behind it is heartbreaking. “The reason that I brought my dog’s collar is actually because she had cancer at the time,’” he said, adding when he returned home from the show, Chelsea had, sadly, passed away.

But, somehow, it gets even sadder. Trevor shared that the day Chelsea broke his heart inside of the pods was the same day his dog Chelsea died. I’m crying. “‘I just thought that was a crazy, sad, story and I wanted to get it off my chest,” he said.“It’s a nice little behind-the-scenes thing that no one really knows, so I just wanted to let everyone know that was the reason behind why I presented her the collar.’”

Trevor is an absolute sweetheart, and I hope he finds the one soon. He is deserving of all the love and kindness he gives others, and I’m sure that person is out there for him somewhere!
