It was a busy day, and after hours of class, work and studying, I couldn’t wait to sit on my couch and just breathe.
But as I entered my apartment, my roommate took my favorite Girl Scout cookies out of the freezer: Thin Mints.
Unfortunately, it only took about a minute to give into the temptation.
However, I did not overindulge. I stopped myself after just two cookies. And we all know Thin Mints aren’t that big. OK, I know I’m trying to sugarcoat it. Thin Mints are still Thin Mints, and they are by no means good for you.
But when I was younger, I could have eaten half a box in one sitting. Yes, I gave into the Thin Mint temptation, but I still had the will power to stop myself after two cookies. To be honest, I do not feel guilty or fat for enjoying some dessert at the end of the day.
I know I’m not going to suddenly gain weight after eating two cookies. It doesn’t become a problem until it becomes a habit.
I still stuck to the rest of my routine. I went on a run, ate a lean turkey sandwich for lunch with watermelon, and had a Subway sweet onion chicken teriyaki sandwich for dinner.
It’s OK to reward yourself once and a while, just make it count!
