I’ve been incredibly lucky this summer! I stood in front of the Mona Lisa, witnessed the Royal Wedding festivities in Monte Carlo, and enjoyed pineapple gelato in the streets of Florence. One of my favorite moments of this vacation happened during our night cruise on the Seine River while I was in Paris with my mom. Just as we pulled up to the dock to end out tour, the Eiffel Tower, which was already illuminating the Parisian sky, began to sparkle! It was just beautiful, there’s no other way to put it. It was exactly what I wanted to see while in the City of Light. I had been waiting my whole life to travel to the places I visited over June and July, and seeing all of these things was definitely life changing to say the least. Traveling made me realize that I truly never want to settle down when I’m older, and that choosing journalism as my major was one of the smartest decisions I cold have made. It’s the only occupation that will allow me to frequently see the world. On that note, I can’t wait to start at Pepperdine University!
