Long runs and great friends

 

Hey collegiettes™!

Today was a great day! To be honest the only thing that could make it better would  be if it were Friday and I could just forget about the reading I have to do. First of all it was beautiful out today! If you haven’t noticed, the weather definitely affects my mood and nice days like today definitely boost my resolve to be healthy. Plus, after my slip up last night I definitely wanted to redeem myself by going out of my way to make the best choices today!

The second great part of my day was that I was finally able to go on a nice long run. It was fabulous to just enjoy the beautiful day without worrying about what time I needed to be back for a meeting or a dinner date…I just cleared my mind and ran and ran for about 45 minutes. My favorite part of long runs is right afterwards when you are so energized and feel like you can do anything. It’s also the best natural energy and mood boost, no five hour energies for me!

I did not want to destroy how great I felt with dinner, so I went to my go to healthy spot; Whole Foods. 

If you can make out what was in my container you will see that I pretty much piled in every veggie imaginable. Edamame, black beans, olives, cucumbers and some avocado. I also added a hard-boiled egg and a few pieces of grilled chicken for some added protein and some dried cranberries for a sweet touch. It was a healthy, delicious and satisfying dinner…which can be a hard combination to find.

To top off my great day, I got to hang out with a friend I haven’t seen in a while. Sitting outside on a beautiful night, with a yummy Whole Foods dinner and great company was the perfect ending to my already great day!
