Lady Gaga Shut Down the People Who Shamed Her Super Bowl Body in the Most Polite Way Possible

Although body positivity has been making major leaps within the past year, we unfortunately must prepare for the body-shaming trolls still out there behind their keyboards. While Lady Gaga absolutely rocked the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show, the internet buzzed with some unfortunate comments about the singer’s body.

Specifically, people poked fun at her stomach, which made an appearance after her impressive costume change during the show. Luckily, Lady Gaga is never afraid to share her thoughts on important matters such as body image, so she took to social media to make her own statement

In an Instagram post, Gaga captioned a photo of her performance with a powerful message about our bodies and being ourselves. Not only does Gaga teach us to be proud of our bodies, but she also wants us to know that we “don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed.” Say it again for the people in the back!

“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do,” Gaga writes. “I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me.”

Personally, we think Gaga looked absolutely stunning and confident up there on stage. Thank you for sharing such an important message and shutting down all the haters in the best way possible!
