The first trailer for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s new movie A Star Is Born is here, and we couldn’t be more excited.
The original 1976 hit movie, starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, followed a washed up, drug-addicted singer as he helped a beautiful but insecure woman grow her career in the music industry and simultaneously fell in love with her.
The remake of the story is mostly the same (except for some new character names—now Jackson Maine and Ally), but it may just be 10x better with the queen herself, Lady Gaga, making her big screen debut (no disrespect to Barbra, though).

The first trailer for the movie dropped today, and it looks sooo good. On top of Gaga’s amazing voice, and Cooper’s (yes, that’s right—he can totally sing), there’s going to be a great love story and some heartbreaking drama, too. From Jackson’s addiction to Ally’s insecurities, there’s sure to be some tear-jerking moments. Ally even confides in Jackson, “Almost every single person has told me they like the way I sounded but they didn’t like the way I look.”
But, then they fall in love. Get ready for the waterworks.
Gaga took to Instagram to share her excitement for the project, calling the movie her “dream come true,” and saying that she’s “beyond thrilled” for her fans to meet Jack and Ally. Trust us, we’re super excited, too.
The movie opens in theaters on October 5th, and you better believe we’ll be running to theaters (if we can even wait that long).
