Apple, Maddox, Blue Ivy… we thought we had heard it all when it came to celebrity baby names. Leave it to Kimye to upstage them all.
According to reports from late yesterday night, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have decided to name their new baby girl North, which would make the child’s full name—wait for it—North West. (No middle name, of course; middle names are so passé.) Clever, right? Too bad the couple seized the opportunity for wit at the expense of what their only child will be addressed by for the rest of her life. (#WorthIt). Reportedly, the name was chosen because Kanye liked the compass combo – but of course, Kanye!
Only a few hours have passed since the official announcement, but already everyone has taken the joke of a name in every direction—ha!—they can possibly think to take it. Here’s what some people have been tweeting about the name choice:
