Join Glamour in Ending Relationship Violence

“To honor the one-year anniversary of Yeardley Love’s death, we’re encouraging women to talk about relationship violence—both to ask for help and to offer it without judgment. Our campaign starts on these pages—full of real stories, hard science and guidance about exactly what to say and do. The most important step: Tell Somebody.” –Glamour

HC is supporting Glamour in their endeavor to end relationship violence.  A new survey done by Glamour and Harris Interactive of women ages 18-35 shows that nearly 60% of women have experienced abuse in a relationship.  It’s time to end the cycle and help our friends and acquaintances by telling somebody.

Four women are killed in the U.S. each DAY due to domestic violence.  How can we help?  Glamour and the Avon Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program are committed to revitalizing the National Domestic Violence Hotline so that no call goes unanswered between now and October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  You can support this goal by making a $10 donation by texting TELLNOW to 85944.  By making sure someone is there to talk to a woman in need, we CAN break the cycle of domestic violence.

To learn more about the Tell Somebody campaign, you can read the story in the June issue of Glamour.

You can also spread awareness by changing your Facebook status to “Relationship violence kills 4 women a DAY in the U.S. If you or someone you know is being abused, Tell Somebody.”

Let’s remember Yeardley by committing to Tell Somebody if a friend is in need.
