There are many reasons we love Steve (a.k.a. Joe Keery) on Stranger Things. For one, he’s earned the nickname “Dad Steve” for a reason, putting his own life at risk to protect the boys in the upside down, and adorably giving Dustin advice on everything from Dart to how to get the ladies. Oh, and he has great hair.
Knowing this, it’s no surprise that the internet was collectively losing it yesterday over Keery’s comment on Sheriff Jim Hopper — I mean, David Harbour’s — Instagram celebrating his Golden Globe nomination for playing the character.
“I tip my hat to you @goldenglobes for the nomination,” Harbour captioned the post, featuring him in a holiday sweater that is definitely Sheriff Hopper-approved. “My Christmas present came early this year. You got me feeling all the holiday feels.”
As Refinery 29 noticed, Keery responded with a devastating comment. “If you win David the Duffer’s [sic] get to shave my head.”
Um, excuse me but WHAT? I, along with thousands of other Stranger Things fans, definitely did not agree to this arrangement. As the comments section following Keery’s comment would indicate, fans are already mourning the possible loss of Keery’s hair.
“Shave your head and I’ll sue,” one commenter wrote, basically summing up our feelings about the whole thing. Joe, please don’t do this to us — it would truly be a tragedy.
