Twitter Has Had *Enough* Of Men Like Joe Alwyn & Dalton Gomez

I’m sure you’ve all heard about the breakup by now. After Ariana Grande was spotted ring-less at Wimbledon on July 16, rumors have been swirling (and publications, confirming) that she and her husband, Dalton Gomez, have split — and fans are going nuts.

Grande posted a carousel of photos on Insta from her weekend at Wimbledon, and her ring — or her supposed husband — were nowhere to be found. The couple’s split has fans breaking the internet, as people are speculating what happened and making some of the best memes yet. A lot of which include none other than Taylor Swift’s ex, Joe Alwyn.

According to Twitter,  Grande’s ex and Taylor Swift’s ex have much more in common than we’d think. It has been repeatedly said, and sources even say, that neither men were “cut out” to be dating A-list pop stars and couldn’t handle the spotlight. Swift’s relationship with Alwyn ended in April 2023, after six long years together. They stuck together through the pandemic, but couldn’t last much longer after.

Meanwhile, Grande and Gomez kept a low profile during their time together, as they started dating in January 2020, and tied the knot in May 2021, during the peak of the pandemic. Once the pandemic restrictions were lifted and both pop stars started heading back to their chaotic lives, it’s been said that the two men couldn’t handle their significant others’ hectic lifestyle. Her Campus reached out to Alwyn and Gomez’s teams for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publication.

To Twitter, the reasoning sounds like a total, made-up excuse. And, frankly, they’ve had enough.

Seriously, Twitter can’t wrap their heads around the fact that Alwyn and Gomez didn’t realize they were dating the biggest popstars of our generation.

Of course, some users are taking jabs.

But can we blame ’em? They’re just speaking the truth!
