Internet woes

Hello there Collegiettes™!

So once again you are probably all wondering where I disappeared to for two days. Well, this little sabbatical can be blamed on wireless internet troubles. Once again, I could not get internet on the boat yesterday, but then even once I got back to Winston-Salem I couldn’t connect to the Wake wireless network…thanks thinkpad. So now that all the issues are fixed, I will be posting twice today to make up for my absence the past two days!

First of all, I will be the first to admit that I did not want to leave the Caribbean. I am a beach gal at heart, so I could stay in any tropical place forever.

Who would want to leave a place that looks like this?!

On the other hand, part of me was ready to get back to my normal life and schedule at Wake. After 7 days, the same three or four restaurants and the buffet start to get a little old. While my friends all can’t wait to get back to McDonalds, Bojangles’ and Cook Out(a little reference for all you North Carolina residents) the first place I ran to was Whole Foods! I warned you I have a bit of an obsession.

As I look back on this week, I know I definitely fell off the path a little here and there, but I also realized that there are some things I did really well and even better than I expected. Mainly, the fact that I worked out nearly every day while on the cruise! Though a few of the workouts were shorter than I would have done back at school, there was only one day that I did not do anything at all. I’m at least pretty impressed with myself, because believe me running on a treadmill while bobbing along in the ocean is not the easiest thing in the world.

Today was a great start to getting back on track. I ate well, but most importantly (and exciting for me) was that I went for a fabulous run that was over 5 miles today! Thanks to a friend, I pushed through my burning legs and ran much farther than I thought I could handle. My goal this week is to keep up the hard work and stick to the SELF Jump Start Diet!
