Here’s to motivation and almost being 21!

Hey collegiettes™!

There is currently 3 hours and 20 minutes until my 21st birthday!!! I’m so excited!!

But just because it is my birthday, does not mean I get to throw my diet out the window. Actually, knowing that my birthday is quickly approaching has made me work even harder than normal. As I said yesterday, in the exercise arena I might have over done it a little last week, but I have also been trying my best to eat well in the days leading up to my birthday. Though I am determined to keep the SELF Jump Start Diet in mind at my little birthday bash tomorrow, I am also aware that if any day is a day for a little splurge it would be my birthday!

This morning for breakfast I had some scrambled eggs on a whole wheat bagel and some tea. I had a midterm and paper due today so I was pretty stressed out till around 2 o’clock so I actually forgot about lunch until then…forgetting about a meal is unheard of in my book, because I love food and I rarely can ignore my stomach at meal time. Anyways I ended up eating a banana and a turkey and cheese roll up, plus a granola bar latter when I realized I wouldn’t be able to eat dinner till later.

This afternoon I could only go on a quick 30 minute run, which I was not extremely pleased about, until I remembered that just last year a 30 minute run would have seemed daunting. Gotta love progress! Even though I was already working on becoming a better runner before I started the SELF Jump Start Diet, I would never have come as far as I have without the tips and motivation from SELF!

For dinner tonight I had vegetarian sushi from whole foods with a little bit of black bean and butternut squash chili…I really just wanted to try it because it smelled so good so I only got a little bit.

Just a little added tidbit, check out this SELF tip for how to Fake a Good Nigh Sleep! As collegiettes™ we often don’t get nearly enough sleep, so I hope you like it as much as I did!
