Gwyneth Paltrow just won Halloween with this look. The actress’s iconic idea paid homage to her character in the 1995 thriller Se7en, Entertainment Weekly reports. Gwyneth transformed the movie’s tragic plot twist of an ending into a hilarious costume, and the internet is loving it.
For anyone who has never seen the film, Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt star as detectives in search of a serial killer (Kevin Spacey) who uses the seven deadly sins as his murderous motives. Gwyneth plays Brad’s wife, Tracy, and—spoiler alert!—her character ends up being one of John Doe’s victims. He puts her head in a box marked fragile, i.e. why Gwyneth’s “head in a box” costume is so genius.
While her character’s fate was nothing short of disturbing, Gwyneth and her boyfriend, Brad Falchuk (who dressed as Spacey’s John Doe), gave fans something to laugh about. Tracy may have died, but Paltrow *killed* Halloween with nothing more than a box and an orange jumpsuit. This is arguably the best couples costume idea of 2017.
