The Full Spooky Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ is Here

Just yesterday, I was perusing through the spooky section of Hulu and watched an episode of the original Sabrina the Teenage Witch series from the 1990s. That was when I remembered that IT’S GRITTY REBOOT TIME!

Like clockwork, the full trailer for the new Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina dropped today, and it’s definitely less teenage, more witch. We see Sabrina Spellman (Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka) on fun, Halloween dates with Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch) and celebrating her Sweet 16 with her friends, but nothing can ever truly be normal when you’ve been biologically predisposed to dark magic.

As Sabrina narrates in the trailer, she “would have to choose between two worlds: the witch world of her family, and the human world of her friends.” True to the original, we see glimpses of her bickering aunts Hilda (Lucy Davis) and Zelda (Miranda Otto), and even her man-turned-black-cat Salem. (Although I have a feeling he won’t be as sarcastic and wise-cracking as he was in the original series.)

The rest of the trailer is a romp through the darker forces Sabrina will have to face- a ceremony involving blood, dark rituals, demons, and three evil witches who mean business. “You’re going to die, half-breed,” one of them tells her.

Forces from the underworld begin to threaten Sabrina’s life as a human, and it’s up to her to protect her friends from harm. “I’m not an evil person,” she says, “but these are desperate times.”

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina arrives on Netflix on October 26. Check out the trailer below:

She hails from Manito, a rural wasteland in Illinois so small and devoid of life that she took up writing to amuse herself. Kait goes to Butler University to prepare for a career in advertising, but all she really wants to do is talk about TV for a living. You can find her at any given moment with her earbuds in pretending to do homework but actually looking at surrealist memes.
