Former Bachelor Chris Soules has been arrested for leaving the scene of a deadly car crash in his home state of Iowa.
According to TMZ, Soules was driving a pickup truck that rear-ended a tractor near Aurora, IA, around 8 p.m. Monday night, roughly 15 miles south of his farm in Arlington. KWWL.com reports the collison sent both vehicles into a ditch. Soules reportedly had alcoholic beverage containers in his possession when the crash occurred, though People says he was not charged with driving under the influence.
The driver of the tractor died at the hospital following the crash.
Witnesses identified Soules and called police after he left the scene, leading to his arrest. Soules’ bail was set at $10,000 and was posted shortly after his arraignment Tuesday morning.
