What Cocktail to Have This Weekend, Based on Your Favorite Chick Flick

Pair some of the best chick flicks ever with new and fun cocktails this weekend! Get your squad together and have fun making these drinks and marathoning these classics.

1. Clueless: Frozen Pink Grapefruit Margarita

This is basically the cocktail version of Cher’s trademark pink fuzzy pen. As if Cher would have anything less than this audacious, energizing drink! It has just the right amount of California summeriness and her Beverly Hills sass.

Recipe from Pinterest

Ingredients:

1 cup of ruby red grapefruit juice

1/2 cup of fresh squeezed lime juice (about 4 limes)

1 cup of triple sec orange liqueur

3 cups of ice

1 cup of silver tequila

Directions: Combine all ingredients and shake, then pour into glasses of your choice! Add grapefruit or lime wedges and kosher salt for an optional garnish.

2. John Tucker Must Die: Screwdriver

Doesn’t a screwdriver sound perfect for the ladies who John Tucker wronged? This cocktail is a super easy morning pick-me-up, with just two ingredients! Get your Sunday brunch started off right with this zinger.

Recipe from MyDomaine

Ingredients:

1.5 ounces of vodka

1.5 ounces of orange juice

Directions: Mix together equal portions of vodka and orange juice. Pour into your favorite glass, and you’re ready to exact your revenge!

3. 13 Going on 30: Whiskey Lemonade

This is exactly what Jenna Rink would order. She’s familiar with lemonade, so it must be safe, right? Little does she know about whiskey’s fiery kick. Pour this one out to keep you warm on these near-summer nights!

Recipe from A Beautiful Mess

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of whiskey

2 lemon’s worth of juice

Club soda

Honey simple syrup

Sweetened lime juice

Directions: This one involves some eyeballing of the ingredients. In the glass you’re using, combine the whiskey, lemons and ice, and fill the rest of the glass with club soda. Add the syrup and lime juice to taste, and top it off with a lemon garnish!

4. He’s Just Not That Into You: Rasmopolitan

A sweet twist on the classic drink is just sweet enough to accompany a He’s Just Not That Into You viewing, but the vodka also supplies just the sting you need when Bradley Cooper’s eyes get a little too blue.

Recipe from House & Home

Ingredients:

1 ounce of citrus-flavored vodka

1 ounce of raspberry-flavored vodka

1/2 ounce Chambord liqueur

1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice

1 tablespoon of simple syrup

1 ounce of cranberry juice

Directions: Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice, add both vodkas, Chambord, lime juice, syrup and cranberry juice. Shake until the mix is well chilled, strain into martini glasses and add raspberries for garnish!

5. Bridesmaids: Bourbon and Blood Orange Blast

Just the right amount of spice for the ladies of Bridesmaids to get behind. This drink will surely have you and your friends laughing even harder than usual at Melissa McCarthy’s antics.

Recipe from Real Simple

Ingredients:

1 1/2 ounces of bourbon

1/2 cup of blood orange juice

8 fresh mint leaves

Directions: Mix bourbon, juice and leaves together in a shaker. Pour in the glass of your choice, add any leftover mint for garnish or taste and get to giggling!

6. Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Champagne & Popsicles

Champagne is just classy enough for Audrey Hepburn, and the popsicles keep things interesting. This fun take on strawberries and champagne is unforgettable and fun! It’s also super easy… just add your favorite popsicle to your favorite champagne! Do make sure the flavors complement one another, though.

Recipe from Brides.com

Ingredients

Popsicles

Champagne

Directions: Take care to not put the popsicles in too early before the drinking begins, so they don’t create a huge mess. Chill the champagne to help!

7. When Harry Met Sally: Pineapple Mojito

This is just the right mix of Harry and Sally: The meticulous creation of a mojito for Sally’s very particular taste, and the daring mix of pineapple and lime to highlight Harry’s adventurous tendencies.

Recipe from Rachel Ray

Ingredients

1 bunch of fresh mint, stems removed

2 limes, cut in 8 total wedges

1/2 cup of sugar

1 cup of pineapple juice

1 cup of canned crushed pineapple

1 cup of light rum

4 cups of ice cubes

1 cup of club soda

Directions: Crush together mint leaves, lime wedges and sugar. Stir in the pineapple juice, curshed pinapple and rum until the sugar dissolves. Add ice and serve!

Your weekend is sure to be interesting once these cocktails are added to the mix. Start a new tradition of cocktail creating and movie viewing with your best gal pals. It’s sure to be a night to remember (or not)!
