We Have Updates on Netflix’s ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’

So you probably already know by now that Netflix is planning on releasing its own adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. Well it looks like there’s more good news to look forward to because this week, it was announced by Deadline that Neil Patrick Harris has just signed on to play the iconic role of Count Olaf in the show.

The Netflix show, which will be based off of the book series, will follow the lives of the Baudelaire children: Violet, Sunny and Klaus. After the siblings lose their parents in a fire, the trio is sent to live with their evil relative, Count Olaf, who goes out of his way with attempts to steal their inheritance. Harris has some pretty big shoes to fill, as Olaf was originally played by Jim Carrey in the 2004 film. But Neil Patrick Harris and the role of Count Olaf are like a match made in casting heaven, so we’re sure he’ll do a phenomenal job.

The series is narrated by Lemony Snicket, who, it was also announced, will be played by Patrick Warburton of Family Guy.

They will be acting alongside Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes, aka Violet and Klaus.

Netflix has apparently ordered 13 episodes of the series, which is set to begin filming in Vancouver this month. We can’t wait to see how one of our favorite childhood series comes to life!
