Melissa McCarthy Has No Time For ‘Ghostbusters’ Haters

Melissa McCarthy is a woman who plays by nobody’s rules but her own. For that, though, sometimes she can be the target of a lot of misguided hate.

According to a recent interview with the Guardian, the actress and comedian came under fire for her new, all-female remake of the classic film Ghostbusters.

“All those comments—’You’re ruining my childhood!'” she quoted, adding, “Four women doing any movie on earth will ruin your childhood?”

But McCarthy is forgiving of the trolls—to a degree. “I have a visual of those people not having a Ben, not having friends, so they’re just sitting there and spewing hate into the this fake world of the internet. I just hope they find a friend.”

We hope that the haters do find friends, and leave McCarthy to be her fierce, beautiful, hilarious self!
