Gossip Girl and Monte Carlo star, Leighton Meester, is just not feeling the family love this week.
Leighton and her mother have always had a strained relationship, but Leighton’s brother, Lex, needed money for his severe medical issues, so the actress has been sending her mom $7500 a month to care for him.
Unfortunately, Mother Meester thought that money was for her plastic surgery and hair extension fund. So Leighton stopped the payments (for obvious reasons), and in retaliation, her mother threatened to sue her for $3 million dollars claiming that they had made an oral contract for Leighton to pay her $10,000 a month for the rest of her life, but Leighton claims this was not the case. Now, Leighton is firing back with an actual lawsuit claiming that her mother refuses to work and expects Leighton to totally support her financially.
To make things even more dramatic, her mother just hit her with a countersuit stating that they got in a physical altercation in December in which Leighton threw her to the ground and repeatedly hit her with a bottle.
Fans of Leighton already know that she was born in a federal prison, because her mother was involved in a drug smuggling ring at the time of her birth.
Yikes. Hopefully, these two will be able to work this out for the sake of their family.
