This week Playboy founder and creator Hugh Hefner was jilted right before the altar by blonde bombshell (what else?) Crystal Harris. Of course Hugh was crushed (oh, he gets to live out his life as a bachelor with tons of hot chicks around him? Boo-hoo!), but not only is the split cutting into his romantic life, it’s also making him lose money.
The big, flashy TV special is now kaput. The two-hour special that was slated to air, “Marrying Hef,” will no longer air, but they may repurpose the footage for something else. Maybe they’ll use it for the next season of “Girls Next Door.” All that wasted money and effort! Why, Crystal, Why? Crystal is keeping mum about this whole ordeal, but rumors have been swirling that she was going to leave him all along and break up with him on camera for some serious cash from the network, which she claims is “absolutely not true.”
Another rumor was that she was involved with Dr. Phil’s son, Jordan McGraw (um, what?), but of course she denies that too.
She did provide one statement as to her reasoning: “It happened so fast. Hef asked me to marry him in front of threecameras and a photographer. I thought it was something I wanted.” I think that’s bunny speak: “Holy crap! I just realized I don’t want to marry this old guy!”
Hugh has been pretty bummed as expected, but he hasn’t mentioned a whole lot to the public either. Cheer up, Hef! Maybe this whole thing will get a lot of publicity for “The Playboy Club” which is set to premiere on NBC this fall.
Hopefully these two crazy kids will work it out.
