‘Halloweentown’ Cast Share Heartwarming Tributes to Debbie Reynolds

The end of 2016 hasn’t been kind to movie lovers, what with Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher dying just a day before her mother Debbie Reynolds, who was known for her roles in Singin’ in the Rain and Disney Channel’s Halloweentown films. What Disney fan didn’t adore Reynolds as the eccentric, caring Aggie Cromwell?

The sadness of her death definitely hit us most when the Halloweentown series’ original Marnie, Kimberly J. Brown, took to Facebook to share her thoughts about the woman who played her grandmother on-screen.

“Debbie lived her life like all of us should, to the fullest,” Brown wrote. “She was bold, funny, and had the biggest heart.”

The actress also shared how Reynolds would help crew members move ladders on set just to lend a helpful hand. “Her humility, grace, and care for others inspired me so much as a teen and is something that will always stay with me.”

According to a Seventeen interview Brown did back in October, she stayed close with all of her Halloweentown costars over the year, including Reynolds. “She and I have had some dinners together and I’ve been to her house,” Brown said. “She’s amazing.”

Her kind words following Reynolds’ death were only backed up by other costars like Judith Hoag, who played Marnie’s mom, and J. Paul Zimmerman, aka Dylan.

I miss Gramma. Not dealing with this very well.

It’s clear that Debbie Reynolds was incredibly loved by her Disney-crafted family of witches and warlocks. “Thanks for the magic, Debbie,” Brown wrote. “Rest in peace.”
