This ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Doctor Just Returned Last Season, But She’s Already Leaving Again

Shonda Rhimes never fails to pull our heartstrings and leave us in tears. That being said, Grey’s Anatomy fans should be prepared for another heart-wrenching loss. TVLine reports that Dr. Leah Murphy will not appear on the new season of Grey’s, which returns Sept. 28 for Season 14. I know—I’m sad, too. Didn’t we just get her back?!

According to TVLine, Tessa Ferrer, who plays Leah, has not been seen on set this season, and there are no plans for her to appear, though reps for ABC have not commented on the situation. Just to recap, Dr. Murphy made her debut during Season 9, but she was written out after being fired in the Season 10 finale. Leah ~just~ returned to the show last season, and now we’re losing her again. What’s going to happen?!

If you’re an avid watcher, I’m sure you’re wondering how Arizona will survive the loss of another romantic interest. Can Shonda please give us some answers?!

The Grey’s premiere can’t come quickly enough. I have to know how the show will fare without Leah. Hopefully, it will all make sense soon, because right now I can’t stand the thought of having to say goodbye to another character. Shonda, you really know how to make me suffer.

Abbey is a senior at the University of Wyoming and is currently majoring in Journalism. She couldn't imagine a world without Jesus, coffee, The 1975, Twitter or her family. You'll usually find her at a concert or cafe somewhere, which is where she spends majority of her free-time. Talking to band members after their shows is a hobby, along with thrifting & indulging in all aspects of pop culture. After college, she plans to spend more time at concerts, getting paid to write about music and bands.
