The First Trailer For 'Beautiful Boy' Is Here, & Timothée Chalamet Is Coming For That Oscar

Timothée Chalamet, who stole everyone's hearts after playing Elio in the 2017 awards season favorite Call Me by Your Name, is back on the big screen in another tearjerker.

Beautiful Boy is based on the real-life memoirs of David and Nic SheffTweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines and Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction, respectively.

Steve Carell and Chalamet star as the father and son duo, and the film chronicles their experiences with "survival, relapse, and recovery," according to Beautiful Boy's IMDb page

The film's first trailer dives right into Nic's (Chalamet) addiction and David's (Carell) helplessness as the two have an emotionally charged conversation at a restaurant.

"I need to find a way to fill this hole in me," Nic says later in the trailer.

Maura Tierney and Amy Ryan (A.K.A. Holly from The Office; it's a reunion!) also star in the film.

Unfortunately, Beautiful Boy doesn't hit theaters until October 12 — but honestly, I need a few months to emotionally prepare. I'm also starting a campaign for Chalamet to get the Oscar he was snubbed of last year.
