Camila Cabello Admitted That She’s Fallen in Love & Revealed That Shawn Mendes ‘Means a Lot’ to Her

Camila Cabello is one of Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood cover stars. In her first major interview since her romance with Shawn Mendes started earlier this summer, Cabello did not specifically talk about their (kinda sorta maybe definitely) relationship, but she did talk about Mendes’ place in her life, and how she has recently fallen in love (with Mendes?).

In her new interview with Variety, Cabello said she is in a different place emotionally than she was when she released her first album, “Camila,” in January of last year. The pop singer revealed that falling in love has influenced her songwriting for her new album, which she said is all about focusing on the “now,” Seventeen reports.

“Falling in love is like an infinite amount of levels and layers and angles,” Cabello said. “I fell in love and just opened up. Everything was written in present moment.”

The way Cabello describes falling in love is just the sweetest thing ever.

The pop singer did not name-drop her rumored beau Mendes, she did later talk about him in the interview, including how their “Señorita” duet happened, Elle reports.

She revealed that their duet — you know, the one that sparked all of those romance rumors?— took eight months to come together, adding that she enjoyed working with Mendes.

“I’ve known Shawn for such a long time, and it’s so much fun getting to work and do things with somebody who means a lot to you,” she said.

All of this love talk from Cabello comes less than a week after an Entertainment Tonight source claimed that she and Mendes are falling for each other.

“Shawn and Camila originally were just enjoying spending time together and having a summer fling,” the source said. “Camila had just gotten out of a relationship and Shawn was in the middle of a massive tour,” but “Shawn and Camila have really fallen for one another.” The source added that Cabello and Mendes both “committed to working on a relationship.”

Whether Cabello was talking about Mendes or not (but we hope so!), we are happy that she is in a good place and obviously very happy.
