Show Us Why You’re Unique With The ‘Enough For You’ TikTok Trend

When I first heard about the “Enough For You” TikTok trend featuring music from Olivia Rodrigo’s album SOUR, I wanted to run for the hills. The number of times I’ve heard “Enough For You” and instantly fallen down the rabbit hole of remembering past heartbreak is more than I’d like to admit. But fortunately, this TikTok trend is meant to make you smile, not sob into a pint of Ben and Jerry’s. All over my FYP, TikTokers are harnessing Rodrigo’s heart-wrenching lyrics to create hilarious viral videos, and I (along with my tear ducts) am so here for it.

First things first: If you haven’t listened to SOUR, Rodrigo’s album that broke the internet and forced everyone to text their exes, give it a listen. The song “Enough For You” will hit you right in the feels, especially the lyrics found in the trending audio:

Maybe I’m just not as interesting as the girls you had before
But God, you couldn’t have cared less
About someone who loved you more
I’d say you broke my heart
But you broke much more than that
Now I don’t want your sympathy
I just want myself back

Killer, right? In the “Enough For You” TikTok trend, creators sync their video with the lyrics “Maybe I’m just not as interesting as the girls you had before” followed by the caption, “Knowing I’ll never relate to this lyric because…” Then, they fill in the blank with a reason why. The gist: share something undeniably unique about yourself — bonus points if it’s eccentric, offbeat, or amusing — thus proving that you are, in fact, way more interesting than the others they’ve dated before. Here’s a spot-on example from creator @bayleeringg, whose version about the clown sightings of 2016 made me spit out my water.

While you can totally share a wholesome or endearing quality about yourself, the “Enough For You” trend presents a prime opportunity to tap into humor — and save yourself from crying to Olivia Rodrigo again for the millionth time. Check out this version from @briannachickenfry, or this one from @miaphickman who will simply never relate to being uninteresting, because, come on — just look at her past Halloween costumes. If you’re a fan of #BookTok, this one from Alex Aster will make you smile; after all, naming the villains in your book after people who have wronged you is both delightfully interesting and a power move.

If you’re ready to flex your comedic muscle and hop on the “Enough For You” trend yourself, bookmark the audio here and scroll through TikTok for some entertaining inspiration, like this Twilight-themed video from @maryalicebrandon or this version from @gillyrok, who deserves an Oscar for her acting chops. Then, think of something that sets you apart from the crowd. Bonus points if it’s random, super niche, or that hilarious thing you did over summer break that your friends will never let you live down. Then, write a caption detailing why you’ll never relate to Rodrigo’s lyrics about not being interesting, and record your response in a quick video.

Thanks to this TikTok trend, I can finally practice listening to “Enough For You” without having a full-on existential crisis every time (baby steps, baby steps). But if you’re still caught up on your ex or that one person who broke your heart 10 years ago, may the trend be your reminder to laugh a little and not compare yourself to those other girls — trust me, it’s not worth it. And as for your ex? Oof. They’ll never find anyone as interesting as you.
