There I was, sitting in a meeting at 6:30 p.m., the prime time for stomach growling. And right in front of me were three boxes of cheesy, greasy, irresistible-looking pizzas. As everyone started to indulge in pizza, my mouth started to water and my stomach growls seemed to get louder.
But I resisted the seemingly irresistible temptation. I did not eat the pizza.
However, by the time my meeting ended at 8:30 p.m., my stomach had enough. I could almost hear it screaming, “Feed me! Feed me!”
I immediately drove to my go-to restaurant, Panera. I know eating out isn’t the healthiest thing to do, but I just didn’t have enough time to cook dinner. I know Panera can be just as fattening as eating pizza, so I ordered half of the chicken noodle soup and half of the Mediterranean veggie sandwich. I could not have been more satisfied.
The pizza was very tempting, but I am glad I not give into its temptation. After all, it was my first day using SELF’S diet.
In fact, today I put one of the tips to test. Until today, I have always kept my fruit in the bins or on the side door in the fridge. But thanks to the tip of the day, I moved my fruit to the middle shelf. Now, when I open the fridge, fruit is the first thing I see. According to SELF, you are more likely to choose the food in the front of your fridge. When I’m hungry, the first thing I do is go to the fridge. Even just minutes after the reorganization, I was snacking on more grapes than I would in a regular day.
My spring break cruise is right around the corner, and the last thing I want to do is overdose on chocolate pudding.
