Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion Dropped “Bongos” & The Internet Is Losing It (In The Best Way)

Sept. 8 has been a big day for the music industry. Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore album GUTS dropped and is already climbing the charts. Additionally, two of the most iconic artists in hip-hop surprised us with a collab we simply cannot miss. Cardi B released “Bongos” featuring Megan Thee Station, and I’ve had it on repeat all morning — and so has the internet.

This isn’t the pair’s first track together though: remember “WAP?” In 2020, the duo broke all kinds of records, and made massive waves in pop culture — seriously, these two don’t mess around. I mean, it’s only been 10 hours and they are already #1 trending on YouTube with over a million views!

On Sept. 5, Cardi B and Megan The Stallion teased fans with the “Bongos” album cover, and many speculated it was going to be some kind of subpar “WAP” follow-up, but boy, were they wrong.

Let’s break down what this new single means for both Meg and Cardi. In August, Cardi told Vogue Mexico that she wasn’t planning on doing any more features until releasing a solo single (which may or may not hint at her second album). Additionally, this single also breaks the silence we’ve had from Megan since mid-2022 when her album Traumatize was released.

To say that the internet is losing it, would be an understatement. Fans are loving the new release, which dropped just in time for the weekend. So if you haven’t listened to Bongos yet – stop, pull up Spotify, and prepare to have your life changed for the better. And, while you’re at it, take a  look at these fan reactions —because if there is one thing in life we can always count on…it’s X (formerly Twitter) going crazy.

Some even got their dancing shoes on.

Let’s be honest… these outfits go hard.

You know it’s a good song when even the self-proclaimed music critics like it.

Now, if you need me, I’ll be blasting this song on a HGW. It’s what’s required.
