Birthdays bashes and healthy choices

 

 

Hey Collegiettes™!

March seems to be the month of birthdays. Though this obviously means lots of fun celebrations, birthdays also come with many temptations. This week is going to be a minefield of all sorts of delicious and not-so-nutritious snacks and treats.

I am proud to say that I passed my first test yesterday with flying colors! Two of my friends had a big get together yesterday and I knew there would be a lot of tempting foods. Planning ahead,  I went to Whole Foods and grabbed some edamame, tofu, a little bit of chicken and a hard-boiled egg to bring to make sure I would be full enough to resist all the yumminess. My plan paid off, as I never even touched the Chik-fil-a chicken nuggets, Jersey Mikes subs or the cake!

When I started to nibble on pretzels and some chips and guacamole, I started chewing a piece of gum before any major munching started and it really did keep me from eating any more.

If I can keep this resolve up, stick to the SELF Jump Start Diet and continue my great exercise regimen I will be in great shape in now time!
