We’re bummed that we’ve only gotten to see one glimpse of Beyoncé’s twins, Sir and Rumi Carter, since they were born back in June — but no worries, because Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles-Lawson is here to tell us everything we need to know about how the 7-month-old twins are doing. (And which family member they look most like!)
Over the weekend, Knowles-Lawson told Us Weekly that, while she doesn’t see herself in either of her two new grandchildren (yet!), Sir already looks like a tiny, mini Jay-Z.
“The boy has a stare, like a mean mug, like Jay sometimes, which is so cute,” she said. “And the girl, she’s just so happy all the time and so sweet. They are just adorable!”
I totally understand that the Carters are trying to keep photos of their fam under wraps while Sir and Rumi are young, but I am also now dying for photographic proof of this aforementioned “mean mug.” Meanwhile, while we wait for 2018 to (hopefully) bless us with more photos of the twins, we can take comfort in the fact that Jay-Z totally agrees with Tina — because, according to a previous interview with Vanity Fair, it sounds like Sir’s adorable attitude was actually what earned him his name.
“Sir was like, man, come out the gate,” the rapper told Vanity Fair in August. “He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir.”
So there you have it — if this isn’t proof that Sir inherited the badass gene, I’m not sure what is.
