Even if your team wasn’t playing in Superbowl XLVII or you find football just about as entertaining as your Monday morning Biology lecture, this year’s commercials made sitting through all four quarters of the ‘bowl more than bearable. Check out HC’s favorite Superbowl 2013 commercials to see if your picks made the cut!

Viva Young

Consider this commercial for Taco Bell a glimpse into the Secret Life of the American Retiree. Complete with booze, tattoos, make outs, and even a run in with the police, this one stole our hearts. And the Spanish version of Fun’s “We Are Young” was the perfect soundtrack for this seventy and over adventure.

Get In. Get Happy.

It’s Mondays like this one we wish we had someone like the star of this Volkswagen commercial to spread the good vibes and help us turn our frowns around. We’re not sure what’s more hysterical about this one, this guy’s awesome (and actually convincing) Jamaican accent or the looks of confusion from his coworkers, but we do know that we would be more than happy to cruise around with him in his VW Bug!

Rogen & Rudd Talk The Next Big Thing

Combine our two favorite funny guys pitching commercial ideas, an unimpressed Marketing executive and a surprise cameo from Lebron James, and you’ve got Samsung’s 2013 Superbowl commercial. Witty, wacky, and true to form for these actors, it should come as no surprise why this one made our Top 5 picks.

Brotherhood

This heartwarming Budweiser commercial centered around one of the company’s famous Clydesdales horses made us almost as emotional as Beyonce’s ridiculously fierce halftime performance. The real magic in this commercial is its depiction of the undying relationship between the trainer and his very special horse, complete with Fleetwood Mac’s rendition of “Landslide” playing in the background.

Asking Amy

It’s hard to go wrong with a commercial that depicts Amy Poehler asking just about any question she wants to an uncomfortable (and equally hilarious) Best Buy employee. Complete with a hysterical 50 Shades of Grey reference, this outrageous funny girl is someone we wouldn’t mind bringing along the next time we need to make a trip to this tech store.
