7 Questions That Need To Be Answered In ‘Riverdale’ Season 3

Riverdale wrapped its second season on Wednesday night, which means it’s already time to begin looking forward to season three. While the season two finale may not have delivered the OMG moments Riverdale is known for, it did bring up some important questions that we need answers to.

1. What was up with Jughead’s gravestone?

At the beginning of the season finale episode, we got a look at Betty and the rest of the gang weeping over Jug’s grave, only to learn that it was a dream sequence. But, that dream seemed awfully real. Perhaps it was foreshadowing for something big happening in season three?

2. What is Polly planning?

Alice Cooper is still reeling from the revelation that her husband was (supposedly) the Black Hood and to help her heal, her daughter Polly reveals that she knows someone from the Farm who can help Alice. This just seems super ominous, and part of me wonders if it could be connected to Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s upcoming series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Stay tuned

3. Who *actually* is the Black Hood?

Yeah
Hal Cooper may have committed some crimes but I don’t think he, or Tall Boy, were responsible for all of the evil in Riverdale. So, who is behind it all? Hiram Lodge looks to be a prime candidate, but a bigger twist could be coming. Maybe Alice Cooper is behind it all? We’ll just have to wait and see.

4. What’s the deal with Hiram Lodge’s evil gang?

Hiram has a whole squad, including Mama Blossom and Sheriff Manetta, to help him take over Riverdale, but this is the first time we have seen them all together. What reasons do all of these people have for working with Hiram? Will their evil plan come to fruition in season three?

5. What purpose does arresting Archie serve?

Archie struggles with the most basic tasks so is he really capable of committing a crime? It seems that he got too close to discovering Hiram’s master plan, so Hiram needed to eliminate the Archie threat. But what is this going to accomplish? If anything, it will just rile up Fred Andrews and the rest of the gang, which will only create more obstacles for the Lodges.

6. Who is a Serpent (and who’s just in it for the fashion)?

It appears that FP Jones has officially left the Serpents behind, which means Jughead is now in charge. During Wednesday’s finale, we got a glimpse of Cheryl putting on a very stylish Serpent jacket (red leather FTW), and we saw Jughead ask Betty to be his Serpent Queen. Does this mean that the cousins are now Serpents? Or did Cheryl just really want that awesome jacket?

7. Is Dark Betty gone for good?

Dark Betty has made appearances in both seasons of Riverdale. In the season two finale, we saw Betty spend an extensive amount of time pondering the darkness in her family that could very well be genetic. Does this realization mean that Betty will try to rid herself of her dark alter-ego once and for all? Or will she embrace the darkness and head down a new path in season three?

So many questions! Now, how many days until season three starts?
