Hey, collegiettes!
If you’ve been on our site in the past month, you no doubt saw that we undertook a MASSIVE effort to get 1 million collegiettes to visit HC in the month of February! So now that the month is over… drumroll please… WE DID IT!!!
In fact, we had over 1.2 million visits to HerCampus.com during February—WOW! I mean, we knew you liked to spend time on your laptops, but… ;) Basically, we are floored by the incredible milestone our site has reached, and so grateful to all of you—our readers, writers, commenters, Facebook-sharers, tweeters, pinners (you get it) who made this fantastic feat possible.
Now if you remember, we promised that if we hit this milestone, we would donate 1 million impressions on our site (over $20,000 worth of advertising in site takeovers, ads, blog posts, you name it!) to our inspiring nonprofit partner She’s the First, which works to support girls’ education in developing countries (a cause we are so behind). So look out for HC to be STF (that’s She’s the First)-ified over the next few weeks as we put our muscle behind propelling this phenomenal organization.
Now, for the fun of it, let’s take a look at what all 1.2 MILLION OF YOU had fun with on HC during the month of February:
-You read our 20 Cutest Things to Do With Your Boyfriend on Valentine’s Day piece in a frenzy—21,000+ of you read it the day before V-Day, and 11,000+ of you read it ON V-Day! (hey, a collegiette is busy!)
-The section homepage you hopped to most was our Style section—such trendsetters!
-You couldn’t get enough of our February Giveaway-a-Day (not to worry—we have even more giveaways for you in our Deals & Steals section!)
-You salivated reading about the Top 10 College Dining Halls (when are transfer applications due, again?)
-…and got serious taking pointers from our article on How to Write the Best Cover Letter Ever and reading up on The 10 Most Employable College Majors
-You fell into #Linsanity, eating up my co-founder Annie’s piece on Jeremy Lin and what he was like at Harvard (and The Huffington Post loved it too!)
-You LOLed at Her Campus BC’s Sh*t BC Girls Say video (we have it on replay in the office!) and took tips from Her Campus Emory on What to Wear to Dayglow.
All in all, you ROCKED IT OUT this month, sending our traffic (and excitement!) through the roof, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate this amazing accomplishment with all of you. So what’s next? Look out for our 2 Million Collegiettes campaign next month (just kidding! though that would be awesome), but in all seriousness, keep reading HC, keep giving us feedback on what you love and what you hate, keep Facebook-ing, tweeting, pinning, stumbling your fave HC articles, keep telling your friends to check it out, and if you’re really feeling the HC love, pick up some super cute swag in Her Campus Shop!
