Two weeks ago, I traveled down to Asheville, North Carolina (my hometown!) for the Carolina Connect Conference. I was fortunate enough to have been invited down to speak in the morning keynote panel titled “Bein’ Young and Rockin’ It.” It was an incredible honor to be invited back to my hometown to speak about being a young business owner.
On the panel with me were two awesome young entrepreneurs, Jeremy Edgell and Chris Yura. Jeremy runs a company called Kiveo that builds websites, maintains social media, runs data management, and does a bunch of other cool tech-y stuff for small businesses. Chris founded and runs SustainU, one of the leading producers of clothing made from 100% recycled fabrics and made right here in the US of A. Chris is also a former model (oh la la!).
I had a great time speaking on the panel and connecting with the other business owners at the conference. The questions I was asked ranged from putting together a business plan to picking a founding team to raising capital to social media marketing.
Here are some pictures of me presenting!
