The 9 Spookiest Cocktails for Your Virtual Soirées This October

Gather ’round for the cocktail competition of the century! It’s no secret that Halloween is going to look very different this year, but just because full-scale Halloween parties won’t be happening, it doesn’t mean you and your crew can’t find a way to get your ~booze~ on!

From cocktail-making zoom parties to drink mix kits that you can deliver to your best friends’ doors, the possibilities are endless for pandemic-safe Halloween fun! So, if you’re going to drink anything this Halloween, let it be one of these spooky (should we bring back spoopy?) cocktails. With nine recipes curated by liquor brands and food blogs, plus one of my very own creations, I’m certain you’ll find at least one dazzling drink to make the absolute BEST of Halloween 2020.

Plus, I rated each of these recipes on their taste (1-5), ease (1-5), price($-$$$), extraness and, of course, spooky factor (1-5), so you don’t have to!

Tart Cherry Eyeball (Non-Alcoholic) Punch

Ingredients (Four Servings)

  • 10 oz lychees
  • 2 oz blackberries
  • 1.5 cups tart cherry juice
  • 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 12 oz chilled sparkling water

Instructions

Drain the can of lychees, reserving 1/4 cup of syrup. Carefully stuff one blackberry in each lychee and let them sit in the fridge to chill. Stir together the reserved syrup, 1.5 cups tart cherry juice, and 1/3 cup fresh orange juice in a medium sized bowl with ice. Add the stuffed lychees and the cold sparkling water to the punch. Ladle into glasses to serve.

If you prefer something sweeter, use ginger ale instead of the sparkling water, and to make alcoholic, stir half a cup of vodka or light rum into the punch.
