Top 5 Mascaras For Your Makeup Bag

Navigating the world of mascara isn’t always the easiest of tasks: waterproof or not waterproof? Do you want a brush or a comb? Is it worth splurging on your mascara or will a cheap one be just as good? There are far too many questions to be answered – especially when all you want is a mascara that you can use every day; whether you’re going to campus, heading to your internship or going out at night. So here’s your ultimate guide to mascara to find the best products for what you want for you lovely lashes!

#1 The Best All Round Mascara: Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara, Nordstrom ($30)

So this is evidently a splurge purchase! Chanel’s Inimitable Intense Mascara is a great comb mascara, which is incredible for length and lash separation. I use this product daily and I absolutely love it! Not only is it the best for length and lash separation but it’s also great for curling your lashes and making them more voluminous. Essentially, if you just want a mascara that does everything for you without you having to worry too much about anything then this is the mascara for you; it’s very much worth the splurge.

#2 The Best Mascara For Volume: Maybelline Volum’ Express Falsies Very Black, CVS ($7.49)

Maybelline’s Volum’ Express Falsies Mascara is a much more reasonable price, but it’s also still great for volume. In fact, this mascara is well known for making it appear as if you’re wearing false eyelashes, which is great news for those of us who dislike applying real false eyelashes. This is a brush style mascara which is a fantastic price for the collegiette who is looking to add more volume to her lashes.

#3 The Best Mascara For Thicker Eyelashes: Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, CVS ($5.29)

This one is an oldie but a goodie! Maybelline Great Lash Mascara is well known as being the best high street mascara to help thicken your lashes. It’s a wand mascara that has a clump-free formula, and it’s an icon for a reason: this is a fantastic mascara; a great, safe mascara if you’re looking to help give the appearance of thicker eyelashes.

#4 The Best Mascara For Building Volume: Dior’s Diorshow Mascara, Sephora ($25)

If you want to spend a little more on your mascara, and you’re looking for a mascara that lets you build your volume and take your look from day to night, then you should invest in Diorshow Mascara. This product is well known for giving you XXL volume, but it’s also great if you just want a little more volume for you everyday look. Diorshow Mascara was inspired by Dior’s makeup artists, and they still use this product on the runway. If they use it on their models, you know it’s a great product!

#5 The Best Waterproof Mascara: bareMinerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara, Sephora ($18)

If you think you need a waterproof mascara, then you should consider buying bareMinerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara. Not only is it a great waterproof product, but it’s also fantastic for giving your lashes as little more definition. Even better, just like all bareMinerals products, it’s a mineral based product which is meant to be better for your lashes. Ideal!

No matter what you need from your mascara you should find a product here to suit you – happy shopping collegiettes!
