There is a reason that the Oscar’s has a serious pre-show- we love to check out who wore it best or who did it best on the Red Carpet. The awards show, arguably one of the most glamorous events of the year, was chock-full of inspiring beauty looks from enviable updos to seductive cat eyes. These ladies and gentlemen came styled to impress.

Best Updo: Amanda Seyfried

We loved this do because of the way it looked perfectly messy, yet pulled together. Her large sparkly earring were a divine compliment to her dress and that purple shadow eye left us wanting to experiment a little with our own shadow pallete.

Best Short Hair: Anne Hathaway

Trying to look adorable and chic? Its a tough combo to pulled off, but Anne natiled it with her chic Mia Farrow-esque boy cut paied with long, sweeping bangs.

Best Smoky Eye: Zoe Saldana

Zoe kept is simple (which we thought worked well when paired with a dress like hers). However, her seductive grey and charcoal smoky eye caught our attention. We will be trying that one Saturday night.

Best Trendy Look: Kate Bosworth

The queen bee of fashion did not dissapoint this year at the awards. She showed up in a enviable brocade number rocking two of the season’s hottest beauty trends: bold lips and braids. We loved that she twister her braids in mature and sophisticated fashion for the evening her and went with a fresh berry lip versus a more classic red hue.

Best Golden Glow: Catherine Zeta Jones

We do not know how she achieved this glow (or how real it is for that matter), however we do think that her bronze tan went well with overall gold ensemble.

Best Old Hollywood Glamour: Reese Witherspoon

We loved Reese’s demure make-up choices paired with a classic swide-swept to. It was a breath of much needed fresh air on a red carpet that can see a lot of the same old looks. She reminded us of the old, glamorous Hollywood actresses of the 1950s and 60s.

Best Bold Lip:  Jessica Chastain

We HAD to give her an award for something, because Jessica was flawless at this year’s awards show. The dark red lipstick hue she chose paired well with her porcelein skin and sparkling, cluster earrings to create a truly enviable vintage look.

Best Big Lashes: Adele

Adele always shows up with a beauty look that is over the top (much like her deep, sultry voice). We adore that she chose a more simple look, paired with some pretty amazing black lashes to bat at the cameras.
