Wadner Molina

Wadner Javier Molina Tavales is a writer at Her Campus UPRM Chapter, interested in covering topics such as Agriculture, Food Science, Sargassum, Mental Health Awareness, acknowledging Women’s Achievements and so much more.

Proudly Puerto Rican and diagnosed with Asperger, he is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy with a minor concentration in Food and Science Technology in the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez Campus. He was active in the student community as the Vice President of the General Student Council and up to this day he still collaborates with various entities on Campus and student organizations to be of assistance towards his fellow classmates and student community. Some of those entities that he was a part of are: General Student Council, Student Council of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Food Technologists Student Association – Puerto Rico Chapter, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Student Branch – Sustainable Information and Communication Technologies, ‘5 Dias En Nuestra Tierra’, ‘Instituto Universitario de Desarrollo Comunitario’, among others.

Outside of Campus, he participated in the Summer Institute for Climate Change & Coastal Resilience, coordinated by Purdue University and the University of Puerto Rico, where he worked in a financial analysis of sargassum as a potential raw material and in the study of a water desalinization prototype that works through solar energy. He also participated in the Green PR internship, in which he had the opportunity to collaborate with ‘La Alacena Feminista’ and the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust.

In his free time, he loves to read, watch series, do gardening, exercise, listen to music and be in touch with what makes him happy.
