Tarika Oberai

Tarika is a sophomore at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign majoring in computer science. She has a passion for entrepreneurship and works for the Technology Entrepreneurship Center as a Peer Entrepreneurship Advisor. One day, she hopes to run her own business. The steps she's taking to achieve this include meeting with current founders, immersing herself within the ecosystem, and minoring in business.

With a degree in computer science, she hopes to start as a product manager or software developer. This past summer she interned at the video game company Electronic Arts (EA) as a product manager, where she worked on designing a new feature for the game Covet Fashion. For this coming summer, she is looking into working as a software engineer for a company or startup. Specifically, she is looking to work on projects app or web development focused, which is where her interest lies.

Outside of school and work, she enjoys making jewelry, playing golf, and reading/writing. She's involved in clubs such as Zero2One (a startup incubator) and HerCampus. She also enjoys running and is working on training for her first 5K, the Turkey Trot, in Chicago.
