Silmary González

Silmary Gonzalez is a member of the social media team at the Her Campus at UPRM chapter. Her designated task is to create and design content that can be helpful and relatable to college students and most especially, for the female audience. She is also currently helping to run the chapter’s TikTok account.

Beyond Her Campus, Silmary is a member of SEMI, an Industrial Microbiology student association in the UPRM. With Microbiology being her main field, she is passionate about medical sciences and finding new ways to improve people’s health. In November of 2023, she participated in the writing of a microbiology magazine, which gave an insight on beneficial microorganisms for women’s health.

She is currently a sophomore at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, majoring in Industrial Microbiology. Her long term goal is to become a pediatrician and also a scientist, given her interested in medical research. In her free time, Silmary enjoys hanging out with her friends, going shopping and listening to music. This last one is a very important part in her life, she considers it healing; this is why she loves going to concerts, whenever she has the opportunity to do so. Her favorite artists include Arctic Monkeys, Harry Styles and The Neighborhood. Silmary wishes to be able to assist to these three concerts someday…
