Reese Van Harlingen

Hello! My name is Reese, I am from Naperville, Illinois and I am currently attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I'm still undecided when it comes to my major but I am interested in STEM, media studies, or possibly education. I'm a part of our University Chorus here at school and I hope to get involved with musical theater as well.
Outside of school I enjoy baking, crocheting, doing crafts, singing, shopping, and listening to Taylor Swift. I also love TV shows and Movies. My favorites include The Office, Pitch Perfect, and The Edge of Seventeen. In addition to this, I love fashion and creating outfits. I believe that part of feeling good is looking good, so even if I'm just going to class, I try to put together an outfit that will allow me to feel my best.
I hope to explore my interests in writing and media through HerCampus. I'm excited to gain new skills within these topics and make connections with other girls who share my interests. I'm very passionate about the ways in which young women can be most successful in their lives even amidst the challenges that we all face today. My writing and research in the past has been focused on these topics so I'm really glad to be a part of a group who shares the same goal and passion of helping girls to thrive and lift each other up.
