Maryland '25

Loretta Pulwer is a full-time graduate student at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at UMD. Armed with a Bachelor's Degree in communication and political science from the University of Munich, Loretta's professional journey has been marked by research experiences. She gained valuable insights through internships at SEO Entertainment, ShareYourSpace, and Constantin Film, where she focused on marketing and public relations, refining her analytical and creative skills.

Her contributions include conducting research on various topics such as the framing of sexism in two prominent German newspapers, the willingness of German newsreaders to pay for online journalism and the individual factors influencing trust in media among lateral thinkers.

Loretta embarked on a purpose-driven mission. She co-founded a Mental Health Project with her peers, dedicated to raising awareness for mental well-being. This project took the form of a compelling Spotify podcast where Loretta and her team engage in thoughtful discussions on a wide range of topics, including self-love, the fight against depression and proactive measures to prevent suicide.

During her free time, you can often find Loretta singing songs by iconic artists like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Aretha Franklin. Sometimes, you might even catch her singing in the university's restroom.
