Joy Keke an Associate Editor at Her Campus Carleton (HCC) for the 2024-2025 school year. As part of the editorial team, she strives for excellence without robbing the writer of their voice but instead by committing herself to clarity, balance, and accuracy in every story she interacts with.
In addition to her work with Her Campus, Joy currently co-hosts the investigative journalism podcast called The Criminal Columnists, where she delves into true crime cases and analyzes their impact on criminal law. She has gained a wealth of experience from serving as a school news reporter for The Ravens Call during her high school years. She also worked as the head blogger for the academic online blog Youth Tutoring Project the summer after graduation, where she has honed her writing skills and developed a keen understanding of how to engage readers. Joy is currently a first-year student pursuing a dual degree in Journalism and Law.
In her free time, Joy enjoys watching video essays, playing video games, and listening to true crime podcasts. Joy is a humanitarian at heart, and donates to charities impacting marginalized communities and hopes to make a positive impact with her writing. She is an avid reader and book nerd, with a particular affinity for books such as "A Good Girl's Guide to Get Away with Murder" and "The Secret History". You can often find her at a local cafe, sipping coffee, and engrossed in a good book.
