Jiana Avila

Jiana Avila is the treasurer and events director at Her Campus DePaul. Meaning she oversees all finances to support the chapter and organizes several events each month. She aims to build a welcoming community through creative curated events.

Apart from her executive board role, she takes pride in the difficult juggle of being a full-time commuter student and part-time worker. She’s a fourth year student majoring in Entrepreneurship- and while she’s always asked “what kind of business do you want to start”, she prefers to be an intrapreneur possibly within the hospitality industry. This past summer she interned with Lettuce Entertain You (the largest restaurant group in Chicago) and is still with the company as a host. She managed her own tent at Windy City Smokeout and hopes to continue being involved within the MEEC sector.

While incredibly hard working and busy, her free time is spent discovering new artists/genres of music. She enjoys attending baseball games (particularly the Cubs granted she’s Northsider) and is a huge advocate for pampering oneself through beauty services. Being from multiple ethnic groups, she has a deep appreciation for the diverse restaurant scene in her city and loves introducing friends to her go-to spots.
