Emily Simon

My name is Emily, I am a junior at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I am from New Jersey but currently live in Harlem. Alongside attending school full time I am a waitress. My job, and where I live facilitate a myriad of interactions and experiences that evoke ingenuity, emotion, engrossment. I feel very strongly about documenting it all. I have kept a consecutive journal since I was 11 that I bring with me everywhere. Like a lot of my peers, I am interested in fashion and art. However, a genre as such is saturated with so much. I really try to come up with peculiar and diverse angles in my writing because of this, it makes for a really interesting writing experience. Besides work and school I am a writer for FIT's newspaper, W27, and, I am currently writing an article for FIT's Magazine, Blush.
