Emily is currently a senior at DePaul University pursuing her bachelor's in Communication Studies. She is also completing her early master's degree program in Public Relations & Advertising through the combined degree program.
She has worked and interned in a variety of places with a focus on social justice and BIPOC community development. Some of the places she has worked with included The Logan Arts Center for The University of Chicago, Free Spirit Media, DePaul's Steans Center, and more. Currently, she is interning for The Soul Institute for Quantum Living, an aromatherapy organization which has been featured on various popular news sources such as CNN. She is also an Internal Communications Assistant at DePaul University's College of Communication, where she edits and writes articles for the weekly Newsletter for staff, students, faculty, and administration.
Emily has written for The DePaulia and 14East Magazine, and is currently working on a blog and podcast with her volunteer organization National Alliance on Mental Illness in Northern Illinois.
She hopes to continue her writing through work exploring body representation in the queer community, de-colonial work, and mental health disparities.
Interests outside of professional writing include exploring fashion, discovering new bookstores, crystals, and reading.
