Autumn Zusman

Hi, my name is Autumn Zusman and I am from San Diego, CA. Being in a beach city I have learned to love the beach and really take it in as resource to calm me down and reset when I am feeling overwhelmed. Additionally, loving the beach it comes naturally that I am attending the University of California, Santa Barbara because it has so many aspects of home that I adore.
Not only did I fall in love with the beach and everything that San Diego has to offer, I also throughout high school found my passion for writing. Ranging from news, to editorial pieces, to pop culture, I love it all. I use writing as an outlet from my busy schedule and to express my opinion on topics that I feel strongly about on paper so that they can be heard by more than just the small group of friends I surround myself with.
My journalism journey began my freshman year of high school when I entered an enthusiastic class that was ready to help young writers grow, which ultimately inspired me to become and editor and influence new writers like myself, ambitious, and ready to grow as a writer. I then became an editor during my sophomore year and into my junior year, and by senior year of high school I took on the position of Editor-in-Chief. This ultimately secured my love for writing, editing, and most of all helping others learn and succeed as people and writers, making me want to continue writing out of high school and into college.
