Life is all about finding meaning. We usually get busy with our everyday life and forget to enjoy the little things. I believe that, although a person can definitely enjoy life by themselves, it is also more exciting to live alongside someone else. Finding a soulmate, or simply someone who can understand you, can be quite difficult nowadays. Sometimes you can find yourself wondering: “when will that ‘special someone’ arrive?” However, we often meet certain people that have a great impact on our lives; therefore, they remain stuck in our minds forever. These types of people could be anyone, from a stranger to someone you have known your entire life. If you’re interested in understanding a little more about soulmates, I hope this article helps you understand them more.

A soulmate is not just any personーit is your other half, someone who you truly trust and would give your all for. It is, in fact, defined by the Merriam Webster as “a person who is perfectly suited to another in temperament” or “a person who strongly resembles another in attitudes or beliefs.” When you meet someone and feel some sort of connection, maybe over a period of time, and notice that the connection has been growing, then that person could be your soulmate. It is all about feeling safe with them. A soulmate would never judge you, mistreat you, or hurt you. Instead, they will guide you, help you, and be direct with you. On the other hand, they will strive to gently push you to reach your full potential. These actions are what will ultimately help you determine that this person is your soulmate.

If you are a believer in soulmates, then you know that connections are unique and have a certain spark that you won’t find in other relationships. As I said, your soulmate shows you the meaning of certain things in life.

Sometimes we lose ourselves trying to find someone else to fill our lives. But what if we already found that special someone who could be considered a soulmate?

Throughout this journey called life, I have learned many things, and perhaps, one of them is that maybe my soulmate has always been present. A soulmate doesn’t have to be a lover in a romantic wayーit can also be a friend or a family member. It can be someone who has never left your side and who is constantly motivating you to reach your full potential. In the end, that is what real friendships and relationships should be about: a healthy connection where everyone grows.

I believe that perhaps you have already met the person who could be considered your soulmate. A soulmate is an individual who has a lasting impact on your life, and who can also be considered a companion in this journey. You might be wondering if you met your soulmate on a college course, summer vacation, or subway stop, but didn’t realize it at the time. As we all know, everything in life is about timing. Whenever you understand that a relationship is essential to your development, including psychological, physical, and spiritual growth, then that’s when you are truly open to the possibility of meeting your soulmate. In other words, soulmates help  each other grow and reach their potential.

Throughout this journey, I have learned that there are different types of soulmates all of whom impact you in different ways. However, in the end, every soulmate we meet has the same importance and impact in our lives.
