The reaction from fans

Fans were certainly not disappointed in the film. It was a movie fans were waiting for since the end of “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” The anticipation kept building up with what movie would set it up in the MCU, the teasers, the name of the film and the trailers. All in all, it was a highly anticipated film that fans were ready for. People were excited the moment the opening credits started rolling. Excited is an understatement as people were screaming and clapping like there was no tomorrow when Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock appeared on the screen. It officially made Daredevil a part of the MCU. The audience felt bad for Peter Parker (Tom Holland), MJ (Zendaya), and Ned (Jacob Batalon) for not getting into MIT because of the Mysterio scandal. Audience hyped to see Doctor Strange perform the spell for Peter and are starting to understand how the villains were able to cross over to his universe. The excitement reached a critical peak when Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Electro (Jamie Foxx), The Lizard and Sandman appeared in a Spider-Man film once again. The hype and tension people felt when Peter’s Spidey-Sense picked up the return of the Green Goblin. The fight between Spider-Man and Green Goblin was getting so intense that people were scared what’s going to happen next. The sadness and the crying commenced as the audience knew it was the last time they will see Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) alive as she got stabbed by the Goblin’s glider. Before she died, she told Peter the famous saying,

“With great power comes great responsibility.”

The cinematic heartbreaking masterpiece of Peter in the rain looking at J. Jonah Jameson’s (J.K. Simmons) billboard broadcast reporting on the chaos Spider-Man has caused and the innocents who suffer from it. The mood changed quickly once Ned started summoning portals to find his Peter. Anticipation turned to screams and tears of joy as Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire appeared on screen. Unless you watched the movie a second time, you probably had no idea what was being said because of all the screaming. For fans, seeing Tobey and Andrew again as Spider-Man meant more that just a simple cameo. The sight of Andrew and Tobey’s Peters help and console Holland’s Peter through a relatable pain gave the audience a sense of hope. The joy and laughter people expressed when they did the pointing fingers meme twice. An unforgettable moment was when the audience saw the three Spider-Men swing around, land their iconic poses and fighting alongside each other. In other words, the fans went crazy and continued the rollercoaster of emotions. Trust, there are WAY more scenes that wasn’t discussed here that got people emotional. The film brought in 3 generations of Spider-Men, super-villains, and fans together to embark on an emotional journey. It was journey full of laughs, screams, tears, and the unknown future. It was a thank you to the people who started the journey and a thank you for the fans who loved the films and allowed it to continue. It was THE Spider-Man film fans were waiting for.

What’s Next?

Everyone knows that Spider-Man is a superhero shared between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, but the ending of the movie left people thinking what’s next? Doctor Strange’s memory spell wipe leaves the world not knowing who Peter Parker is. The web-head slinging superhero can continue protecting the neighborhood because no one knows who’s behind the mask. Peter will now embark in a new Spider-Man journey where Sony will be able to use him as they’re building their Spider-Man Universe without interfering his journey through the MCU. Both studios still benefit as they can still work together to use the hero in their films, but it looks like Sony got the better end of the stick with this memory wipe. Sony can now include Holland’s Spider-Man in their respective Spidey-Verse without Disney being involved. Holland’s Spider-Man can team up with other Spidey heroes and face off other villains that are under Sony’s IP. Holland is not out of the MCU just yet as he apparently still has one more film in his contract. Depending on what happens in Marvel’s multiverse situation, fans wonders when they’ll see Holland’s Spider-Man next. It could be a while before fans see Sony and Disney team up for new Spider-Man trilogy. In the meanwhile, fans can still enjoy the wonderful film and thank everybody who was a part of making the film a reality.
