SPOTLIGHT: CHIANTI GAETA

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCSD chapter.

Meet Chianti Gaeta! Chianti(she/her) is a first-year pursuing a degree in neurobiology. Her sun is in Virgo and she’s from Manteca, California and belongs to Muir college.

  1. What made you join Her Campus?

I joined Her Campus because I wanted to get more involved at UCSD. I was going through the list of organizations and Her Campus stuck out to me because I like how it is women supporting and inspiring other women! I scrolled through the online magazine and realized that I wanted to be a part of this team.

  1. How has the pandemic changed you in a good way?

The pandemic has allowed me to prioritize self-care. At the start of quarantine, I started working out with my family. It became a habit and I became passionate about fitness and nutrition. In general, I feel like I became more disciplined with health and wellness. I make sure I drink enough water, take my vitamins, and do my skin routine every night.

  1. What are some things in your bucket list?

I want to skydive and go bungee jumping at least once even though I know I will be so scared.

  1. If you could star in a movie, which movie would it be?

I would definitely want to be in The Devil Wears Prada because it’s one of my comfort movies. I love all of the outfits and I would want to be able to wear all of the clothes, shoes, and purses for free.

  1. What is your best memory of UCSD of San Diego so far?

In the summer, I went on a kayaking trip with Outback Adventures to the Black Canyon near Arizona. We were there for almost a week and lived outdoors. I had no idea what to expect and it was definitely outside of my comfort zone, but I am so glad I went. I felt like I was in a survivor show because we had no access to bathrooms, limited clothes, and cooked in the backcountry. I made such amazing friends and I will never get this trip.

Her Campus at UCSD aims to create a more open platform for women to share their ideas and passions with the rest of the college community. Our writers are students of all different majors who share the same passion for writing and media and are excited to bring more fun articles for the UCSD community and others to indulge in and enjoy.
