With the days getting colder, it’s the perfect time to snuggle up to your partner and go on amazing and memorable dates. Planning the perfect winter date activity can be challenging, but all you need is a cute outfit, a little bit of creativity and good conversation for the perfect date. Whether you’re an indoor homebody or an outdoor adventurer, these date ideas are budget-friendly and romantic for you and your partner.

Drive-in movie
This socially distanced activity is great for dates as it allows you to get out of the house but is also private and intimate. Due to COVID-19, many drive-in movie places have opened and cost roughly the same amount as a regular movie theatre. Be sure to bring a cozy blanket, pillows and snacks and wear something comfortable and warm. If the snow is falling or the temperature is too cold, there’s always the option of popping a bag of popcorn and sitting on the couch together to watch some childhood winter classics.

Watch an Ice Hockey Game
If you or your partner are into hockey or other winter sports, going to a live game can be an enjoyable experience. If the team you want to see is very popular and you’re unable to get tickets, you can always catch a game from the comfort of your home.

Try a Winter Sport
If you’re thinking about spending some time in the great outdoors, partaking in a winter sport can be an amazing date experience. Ice skating, skiing, sledding or using snowmobiles are just some of the many options, and who wouldn’t want to warm up with some hot chocolate? Pro tip: a waterproof winter coat, cozy socks and a good attitude are all that’s needed for a noteworthy time full of laughter.

Bake Off
There’s nothing like spending a night in and eating good food. Some ideas include baking holiday-themed sugar cookies, decorating gingerbread houses, making s’mores around a firepit, baking a pecan pie or eating an assorted box of chocolates. The best part is that no matter what dessert you choose, you’ll end up with a sweet treat to enjoy.

Decorating and Game Night
Decorating a Christmas tree or playing board games are exciting ways to spend time with one another during the winter season. Throw on some pajamas, play some Christmas music and goof around while hanging up some ornaments. You can also make this a double date or couples’ night if you want to make things more interesting while playing games like Monopoly, Cards Against Humanity, Trivia, Charades, Would you Rather, Codenames and more. This is also a great time to do some gift giving!

Spa Day
A spa day is full of relaxation, pampering and de-stressing. If you want to get it done professionally, you can start by getting a mani-pedi and then going to a spa for massages, soaking in a hot tub and some sauna time. An at-home spa with a bubble bath, robes, face masks, candles and some music can also be romantic.

Hopefully, this article provided you with some cute and budget-friendly date ideas for the winter. While some may enjoy exploring the outdoors, even the familiar comfort of your home can offer unique date ideas. The possibilities are endless when you’re with the people you adore.
